The first couple of weeks

These pictures show the condition of our house when we moved in. Our house is situated on a valley which slopes from the back. It was impossible to get into the back garden because of the overgrowth. We got a rough idea of the length and size of garden from Google Earth, but it overdelivered to expectation - turns out it's over 350ft long (+100m). You can imagine the work that's gone into clearing it! It was only when the estate agent said she thought she saw metal handles through the vegetation that we realised we had a swimming pool! The boiler was under the house but disused and when we turned the water on every pipe leaked, it was a disaster. The first job for us was to replumb the entire house and install a new boiler. We went with a 300l pressurised system installed in the loft with new 32mm mains water pipe coming into the house.
