Swimming pool

By now you will have realised that we have a rather large 6m hole in our back garden. Our intention is to put a rectangular plunge pool in the middle of this circle 4m long & 3m wide. First we had to mark out the new pool using string, post and spray paint. Next we hired a conveyor belt and took a kango to the concrete which must have been +30cm deep in parts. Then loaded this broken concrete on to the conveyor which dumped it at the top out of the hole...this will then be crushed up along with the back of the house when this is pulled down and spat back into the hole outside of the new structure to give support to the pool when it's full of water.

We have spent about £1k on fittings for the pool and about the same maybe a little more on concrete and blocks to make it. Ultimately it will get lined and we will fit an air source heat pump, filter and cover for it but that's further down the line when we've built the extension and workshop, come gym, come bar which will be at the bottom of our garden. For now we have made the base and half built the block work with massive help from our neighbour as well as brother in law who helped to create the base. Complete legends! Thank you so much to both if you read this!
