Log burner

Phil is a genius and did a lot of research that meant he could fit a log burner in our fireplace opening. We smoked the neighbours out (by accident of course) having open fires when we first moved in when we were without heating so this is much more pleasing!

If you want to take this task on, this is the site to read up on: http://www.stovefittersmanual.co.uk/articles/can-i-fit-my-own-wood-burning-stove/

You are legally able to fit your own stove but will need to get it signed off by building control. In total fitting this cost us about £1.5k vs quotes for someone to do this for us for £3k this is a great result! We don't live in a defra area so we have a multi fuel stove. We installed a slate hearth, a great tip is to use wd40 on the slate to bring out the deep colour.

The stove is from Dean forge and has an additional back box.
